Chian gong

Chian is an active investor and advisor to early-stage founders including Stepful, Bumo and Dex. She has spent the last decade working at the intersection of education and technology first as an operator on the data and technology team of Aspire Public Schools and then as an investor with Reach Capital, a venture fund focused on early-stage education technology that empowers learners, parents and educators from early childhood through lifelong learning. Her work is driven by a belief that technology is a powerful tool towards accessing education and opportunity.

As a General Partner with Reach, Chian served on the boards of Stepful, PeopleGrove, Winnie, EveryDay Labs and Guardians Collective. She currently serves on the board of the Bay Area Discovery Museum.

Chian received her BS in Bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley and a joint MBA/MPA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and two children.
