Sharon WIENbar
Sharon Wienbar has extensive Board governance experience in public and private companies. She currently serves on the boards of Resideo Technologies, Inc (NYSE: REZI), where she chairs the Compensation Committee, Covetrus, Inc. (NASDAQ: CVET), and Colfax Corp (NYSE: CFX.) She served on both the Glu Mobile (NASD: GLUU) and Everyday Health (NYSE: EVDY) boards from early revenue, through IPO and beyond, and chaired the Compensation Committee and served on the Audit Committee of both companies. All of these public companies executed numerous M&A transactions and capital transactions.
Sharon helps guide profitable growth in companies large and small, drawing on her experience as an operating executive, investor and strategist. Until 2016, she was the CEO of Hackbright Academy, the engineering school for women, based in San Francisco, then served as strategic adviser to Hackbright's new corporate parent, Capella Education Company after they acquired the company. Sharon previously served on many private company boards including Applause (Acq: Vista Equity) and Actiance (Acq: K1).
Before joining Hackbright, Sharon was a Venture Capitalist at ScaleVP, where she led investments in software, internet and mobile companies. Prior to joining ScaleVP in 2001, Sharon was Vice President, Marketing for Critical Path (NASD: CPTH) and Amplitude Software. She launched her tech career at Adobe Systems, starting as Product Manager for Asian Products and later led marketing for many of Adobe’s applications, and spearheaded numerous cross-product initiatives. Before her technology line experience, Sharon practiced strategy consulting at Bain & Company for nearly five years.
Sharon is a frequent public speaker, has authored and taught several case studies at Stanford Graduate School of Business, was named a Women’s Inc. “Most Influential Corporate Board Director,” is a multi-year “AlwaysOn Power Players in Digital Media Winner,” recognized by the Huffington Post as one of the “Top 25 Women in Tech to Follow on Twitter” and as one of "40 Over 40" women to watch. Sharon holds an S.M. and an A.B. in Engineering from Harvard University, and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Sharon is also a competitive masters rower.
